  we've all seen the line-by-line comparison of john 1:1 with the addition of "a god" when "was god" is visible in the left margin under "theos" in the infamous grimace/barney/grape crush purple bible book.

  i'd check for myself, but unfortunately, i hastily rid my house of all things wt in a purging fit while beginning my fade.

  and let me tell you, the fire was spectacular!

  JW's - Hard to admit that much of life was a waste

  from my observations, i think many (especially older) jw's hold through the stupid doctrinal changes because they can't admit the alternative.. i had wished the jw kingdom hope was true, i needed it to be true.

  i'm 5th generation and my parents, grandparents, great grand.....ect needed it to be true.

  i have watched many "faithful" relatives hang on and die disappointed.

  Naw its much more than that Its the whole conditioning process coupled with not wanting to say: A your life was wasted and the close B wasted on a cult!

  Sadly I have an example to back that up.

  Just found out a good friend of mine growing up is now going back to the hall?!?

  Some background is necesary. He was basically always shitted on by the elders he admitted this to me when we met up as adults. But he feels that it is the right religion and they have the 'truth' Like I said elders never paid any attention to him growing up, he never had any spiritual aspiration and he had one fugged up marriage to a JW broad.

  It is a powerful conditioning program that have that ensnares the mind to levels you just cant comprehend.

  i'm talking to this girl right now who is technically still a witness.

  she doenst go to the meetings anymore but not because she does not feel its the truth.

  her parents are no longer witnesses and i want to get her to see the truth about the "truth" before she decides to go back in.

  i believe that the governing body knew very well what would be the consequences of publishing the above article on apostates.

  they carefully word every article, not only for the faithful, but for the unfaithful, and for those who have never believed our faith.

  the above article and the comments here show me their great wisdom, because they have achieved exactly what they wanted.

  IMO all they can do is hold on to the suckers still in.

  Like I always say they are like an inbred family they have stifled the gene pool and can no longer attract those on the outside.

  one of my co-workers here (a non-baptized, non-attending meeting son of a jw) told me yesterday that his jw cousin told him that the end is right at the doorstep because of the calm and complacency seen not only in the "world" but also in the congregation.

  he told him that this "lack of zeal" was not due to a lack of love for jehovah, but was gods way of fulfilling prophecy.

  the jw cousin then went on to cite the example of the folks of noah's time when everyone was partying and having a good time and suddenly the flood came and that was all she wrote.

  witfnesses have hedged their bets against the end any scerio can lead to armegedon. nations at war armegedon earthquake armegedon peace and security armegan gnat farts armegedon.

  thing is you cannot keep a group people of in expectation of the great and fear inspiring day of jehovah...for over a century?!?

  it will wear them out. hell even moses father in law said as much.
